There are various occasions in the life of Prophet (PBUH) where he (PBUH) mentioned the importance of refraining from prohibited things and acts. Thereafter, it is a duty of every Muslim man and woman to obey the limits set by Quran and Sunnah. “And whosoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, and transgresses His limits, He will cast him into the Fire, to abide therein and he shall have a disgraceful torment.” Allah has issued a threat to the one who transgresses these limits. These limits are mentioned in Quran and hadith, and include not only acts, but also things which are prohibited for Muslims to consume or make use of them. Allah has set certain limits and boundaries. Those things are referred to as ‘haram’ in Islam. In Islamic jurisprudence, Muslims are forbidden from doing certain things.
